Same Swallows?
A pair of Swallows appeared above the garden today. They have been patching up a nest which is above the front door of a neighbour's house. I wonder if it is the same pair who nested there last year?
And why can't they nest above our door instead?!!!

"Our" swallows showed up on Sunday. They can't get in to fix their nests though. Poor dears.
I suspect your neighbour's swallows are there because if they were at YOUR house, they'd be too hard to photograph (too sharp an angle for the camera).
We've had a great afternoon here on the west coast. How about you?

Started off bad today - got soaked walking Birdboy to playschool! It brightened up a bit this afternoon, but the usual quietness was broken by steam rollers, diggers, lorries and big burly men fixing the road outside the house!
Can't photograph the Swallows nesting above the door ... too far away ... I'd have to be sat on their lawn! I'll have to hope that some Swifts come and nest under next door's eaves (and ours, of course!).
