No posts this week - mainly due to what was practically week-long rain.

I don't mention them very often, but the Tawny Owls continue to call and hoot most nights.

We've been over to Glentress Forest today but there was nothing to report from there other than a(nother) Willowchiff near the cafe. I need to take a crash course in Warbler recognition!

I was starting to worry about you! Now I can see that you've been trying to ID warblers.
For me, I go by size, where found, eye stripe, yellowness of belly.
If you find a course on warbler ID, let me know, I'm sure I get it wrong most of the time.

I can't go by size - Willow and Wood are the same size and Chiff is just a fraction smaller. Definitely wasn't a Wood Warbler we had. Now it's been back again I'm leaning towards Willow - but I haven't seen it for long enough to say for definite.
