You must have a fairly big garden to have 35 Starlings or 50 Chaffs in it at one time! How on earth do you manage to count them?
It's tricky counting them all at first but it does get easier. Our highest count of Chaffinch was 85 last winter!
I found the only way I can count starlings now is to take a photo and then blow the picture up on the computer to count the birds. I wonder if there is a new superflock forming behind my house. The "wooshing" when they fly over is almost daunting!
