Something's Up

For the first time so far, Lola isn't settled as it starts to get dark. For over an hour-and-a-half she's been 'itching' constantly - inside the nest box and out - and as a result is unable to settle on her eggs. She's certainly not happy. She's tried bathing in the bird bath but that hasn't worked. Light is fading fast and she wasn't in the box when it went dark in there. She must have a bug or something in her feathers and has been unable to remove it so far. She has spent virtually no time on her eggs over the past ninety minutes.

She was still out of the nest, and in the garden, at 9:10pm.

Fingers crossed that this isn't the end of our story
