Not only was the Fieldfare a garden year tick - it was also a new garden tick. The first one I've seen in the garden!
Less that ten minutes after my last post a Fieldfare landed on the lawn. I'd just about given up with the camera as the light was getting too poor.

Nice one! I think I had one in the garden once last winter, I will have to look on my BTO Garden thingy. I have a new garden first this week too, nothing as spectacular as yours though, but nice all the same - a little Pied Wagtail. He's been down feeding on the paved area three days running now, only ever seen one up on the roof of the bungalow once before, pecking around in the moss.
