House Sparrow

Another quiet week in the garden - other than the ever-present 30 or so House Sparrows.

So, I'm back to blogging, but with nothing to report!

Quiet!

No Nuthatches today! In fact, not a lot happening at all (quite normal at the moment). We do have an average of 30 House Sparrows in the garden at any one time, though, along with much smaller than usual numbers of Greenfinch and Chaffinch.

Must say thank you to Dean at Mostly Macro who identified a Horntail (Wood Wasp) for me which Birdboy spotted in the garden this week. Never seen one before and it was quite revolting. No photo, unfortunately.

Nuthatch

A Nuthatch ventured up to the feeders near the kitchen window this afternoon - and I actually had the camera ready! Our Nuthatches are like our Great Spotted Woodpeckers - a handful of visits a year!

A bit of a refresher course and I'll be back blogging regularly!
