Soggy Sparrowhawk

Found this chap drying out on top of the bird table this morning - another very dull, rainy day.

I've used the wrong cropping tool on some of them but I can't be bothered doing them again!

The Sparrowhawk tried (unsuccessfully) three times today. As he's always so quick, I only managed to get him once. Unfortunately, I missed him on top of the bird table which is right in front of the kitchen window...

Always feels like a missed opportunity when the Sparrowhawk arrives and I fail to get any decent shots. He's literally in the garden for a just few seconds at a time.

Still, he's a handsome devil!

It had to happen at some point. Our Sparrowhawk finally managed to catch something in the garden today - a Goldfinch (just as I was counting them!)

Well, it makes a change from a Robin!

This morning, Mr Sparrowhawk sat patiently on the fork handle waiting for a female Blackbird who was hiding, to his right, in the hebe. He sat there for around a minute before she finally flew out, alarm calling, with him hot on her trail. They both headed towards the wood.

I annoyingly only managed two shots [both identical] because of various obstructions!
